AMERICAN SYSTEMS Selects John Manning to Lead Acquisition and Logistics Strategic Business Area

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced the appointment of John Manning to vice president of the company’s Acquisition and Logistics Strategic Business Area. Mr. Manning will drive new business opportunities and lead AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ professional management and advisory services practice for customers with large acquisition and supply chain programs.

“John’s thorough understanding of the acquisition process and of integrated logistics support elements makes him ideal for this position,” said Peter Smith, chief operating officer, AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “His expertise will be a tremendous asset to AMERICAN SYSTEMS as we help our customers manage and implement timely acquisition programs that deliver the affordable, technically sound and logistically supportable equipment they need for mission-critical operations.”

Mr. Manning served his country for more than two decades before retiring from the Navy in 2001 while stationed as military staff at the Executive office of the President and his last sea tour as a Surface Warfare Officer was as Executive Officer aboard the USS Thorn (DD-988).
